“In many cases of anterior cruciate ligament injury, damage to the caudal lateral horn of medial meniscus is also observed. It is known that postoperative progress would be unfavorable, such as persistent pain, if leaving it untreated in arthrorisis.　Therefore, it is important to evaluate the medial meniscus during surgery and to take care of the meniscus if significant damage is observed. However, since the medial meniscus is located in the narrow knee joint, it is often difficult to perform treatment using only ordinary instruments.

To solve this problem, we have discussed and studied how to treat the meniscus smoothly and concluded to develop a new device.

VOA meniscus probe can be slid into the posterior meniscal ligament attachment at the caudal lateral horn of medial meniscus, hooking the ligament at the tip of the probe. And then it is possible to secure the field of view for confirmation of the caudal lateral horn of the medial meniscus and subsequent processing. After securing the field of view, the ligament can be safely dissected with a scalpel and it become much easier to make the meniscus to process.”
